**Exciting opportunity at our head office — we're hiring a Payroll Specialist to cover maternity leave**
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing the Payroll Office to ensure that salaries and wages are prepared on a timely basis, and payroll taxes and returns are filed on time.
THE JOB:
1. End to end processing of weekly payrolls within the organization.
2. Work closely in conjunction with HR to ensure all processes are properly followed.
3. Liaising with ROS, Social Welfare etc.
4. Liaising with software providers (Sage & HR duo)
5. Control of Holiday Pay, Lieu Time, Bank Holiday, Sick Pay, new starter set up etc.
6. The person is responsible for compiling and filing required reports as well as year-end close, year-end reporting.
7. Works closely with all restaurant managers to ensure Payroll accuracy.
8. Need to be able to work on certain Bank Holidays where necessary to ensure that Payroll is processed on time for that week (this doesn't apply to all bank holidays)
9. Produce and distribute weekly management reports.
10. Act as main point of contact for employees regarding all payroll information and resolving discrepancies
11. Providing wider finance team with any reporting requirements and any relevant queries.
12. Assist with the implementation of processes to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain practices.
13. Other Ad Hoc Duties
THE PERSON:
1. Experience in payroll systems, specifically Sage micropay
2. Strong communication skills
3. Good organizational skills
4. Highly motivated with the ability to use own initiative
5. Ability to work to deadlines
6. Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision and to tight deadlines
7. Effective multi-tasker with the ability to focus on key priorities
8. Attention to detail and sees tasks through to completion
9. Self assured with ability to create positive working relationships
10. Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements of the role
11. Ideally IPASS certified
