Structural Senior/Associate – Dublin
Join a dynamic and friendly team of engineers and technicians in our Dublin office. Candidates will have 8+ years’ experience, a degree in structural engineering and shall have achieved Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE or ICE. The ideal candidate should be proactive and motivated with a willingness to learn. They should have experience in working to Eurocodes/British Standards, competency in utilizing 3D modelling software (Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, ETABS etc.), and strong communication and interpersonal skills in the English language. The successful candidate should be keen to develop professionally with the aim of moving into senior management, growing and developing the EirEng team and brand.
As a Senior Engineer in a relatively small company (c.40 staff split between the Dublin and Bath offices) you will take ownership and responsibility for multiple projects but will always have the close support from our senior staff. The role will primarily be office based but will involve site visits in the UK and may ultimately involve some international travel as your career progresses. EirEng Consulting Engineers work on projects throughout Ireland, the UK, Europe, North America, Asia, & the Middle East.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage junior engineers and work alongside more senior management in both our Dublin and Bath offices on all stages of the structural design of projects in logistics, residential, retail, and commercial sectors at a wide range of scales. This will include:
* Managing multiple projects in terms of technical delivery, quality assurance, finances (fees and invoicing), programme delivery and collaborating with and resourcing other staff accordingly (junior engineers and CAD technicians).
* Mentoring junior staff and providing a technical reviewing role of designs produced by more junior staff.
* Developing and managing structural engineering designs in steel, concrete and timber; including steel portal frames, mezzanine structures, composite structures, connection design, multi-storey structures, floor slabs, foundations, and retaining walls.
* Using 3D structural modelling software to analyse and design structures including mentoring more junior staff in the use of same.
* Preparing reports and specifications.
* Preparing sketches by hand and using software to communicate design principles.
* Working closely with the team of internal engineers and technicians to prepare drawings and other project deliverables.
* Managing the project deliverables process.
* Checking and reviewing of engineering designs and deliverables.
* Liaising, collaborating, and coordinating with both internal and external project team members and Clients.
* Carrying out site visits and surveys.
* Representing EirEng externally by attending design team and client meetings both in person and remotely.
* Assisting with driving business development and the growth of EirEng across multiple sectors.
* Assisting with key management tasks within EirEng i.e. ISO, implementation of new systems, marketing, sustainability progression etc.
