Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our employees, partners, and the environment across all dewatering, water treatment, and environmental management projects. This role is essential to support our commitment to safe, compliant, and sustainable water management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in compliance with State Regulations.
* Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits specifically focused on dewatering, over-pumping, and water treatment operations.
* Provide training and guidance to employees and contractors on health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in relation to water management and environmental protection.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, especially in relation to environmental impacts from water management activities.
* Ensure proper documentation and reporting for regulatory agencies, ensuring full compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
* Lead emergency response planning and coordinate drills and training for potential hazards, particularly those related to water management and environmental risks.
* Stay current with industry trends, safety technologies, and regulatory changes, providing strategic guidance to management.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to integrate EHS considerations into water management projects, including dewatering and treatment operations.
* Foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in an EHS role, preferably within the water management, dewatering, or environmental consulting industries.
* Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, MSHA, EPA), with a particular focus on water management operations.
* Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations (preferably related to dewatering, over-pumping, or water treatment projects).
* Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to influence safety culture across all levels of the organisation.
* Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are a plus.
* Proficient in MS Office and EHS management software.
