We are seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead our Geotechnical discipline and shape the strategy for sustainable infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical deliverables, quality assurance, project leadership, and line management on a variety of infrastructure and energy projects.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership across current projects.
* Develop and ensure consistent application of best practice in geotechnical engineering competencies.
* Mentor and develop engineering staff, including training and knowledge-sharing activities.
* Promote our position as an established name within the industry through involvement in relevant bodies and publications.
* Provide technical approval of designs and check or assessment deliverables.
* Support business development opportunities and input into bids and tenders.

We are looking for a leader who can set a clear direction for their team, delegate responsibility, and create an open and safe dialogue. You will coach your people to achieve their aspirations through constructive feedback and attract and nurture a diverse group of high-potential team members.
Requirements:
* Achieved Chartered Engineer status, with CGeol or CEng (or equivalent).
* A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or MSc in either Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering.
* Experience in a similar role with technical, commercial, and business development responsibilities.
* Expertise in design environments working on major or complex geotechnical projects.
* Knowledge of ground engineering standards, particularly EC7 Geotechnical Design.
* High level knowledge of industrial sector codes and construction processes.
