Three Ireland is looking for a Digital Planning Lead to orchestrate the planning and coordination of digital activities and support their execution, including design, development, content management, and testing across our website, retail interactive technology, and other digital applications and services.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, has strong leadership skills, and can balance immediate operational demands with medium-to-long term strategic planning. You’ll lead a team of specialists across Planning & Operations, Business Analysis, and Project Management, ensuring that digital activities run efficiently and drive real business impact.What Else It InvolvesAs a Digital Planning Lead, you will lead a team across three areas:
Planning & Operations:
Act as the primary intake point for new demand entering the Digital Team.
Oversee digital resource planning, ensuring efficient scheduling and prioritisation of work.
Report regularly on resourcing capacity and availability, proactively addressing conflicts or constraints.
Manage escalations and collaborate with internal teams to optimise resource allocation.
Participate in and lead key Agile ceremonies.
Work closely with delivery leads, managers, and business stakeholders to ensure digital activities are aligned, effectively planned and executed.
Enhance and maintain a high-quality in-life support process for the Digital Team.
Drive continuous operational improvements within the Digital Team.
Business Analysis:
Partner with Product Owners to investigate, assess, and define business problems and asks.
Translate high-level business requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
Ensure technical solutions, UXUI designs, and acceptance criteria are aligned and meet business needs.
Act as a bridge between product, design, development, and testing teams, ensuring seamless collaboration.
Lead refinement sessions and provide ongoing clarification during development and testing phases.
Support Agile delivery by actively participating in ceremonies and decision-making processes.
Project Management:
Understand and monitor the Three project portfolio, assessing its impact on Digital Team resources.Track, analyse, and report on key digital-impacting projects, ensuring visibility, alignment, and that Digital milestones are met.Ensure that each project has a defined Digital representative accountable for Digital activities during requirements gathering and solutioning phases.Act as the Digital representative on select projects, ensuring smooth execution.Project-manage Digital activities during BUAT, go-to-market, and business readiness to support seamless execution. The Skills We’re Looking For
Must Have:
5+ years of experience in a digital operations, planning, or delivery role.
Strong leadership and people skills, with experience managing teams directly or indirectly.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
A strategic, proactive mindset with a results-driven approach.
Ability to build strong relationships and manage expectations with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience collaborating directly with IT, designers, developers, and product owners.
Experience working with 3rd party vendors and offshore teams.
Strong presentation and communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior leadership.
Understanding of Scrum/Agile methodologies.
Passion for digital innovation, technology, and process optimization.
Nice to Have:
Experience in an omni-channel environment (e.g., website, retail, apps).Strong stakeholder management experience, including working with external partners and vendors.Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Certified Scrum Master).Knowledge of Web Analytics and performance tracking tools.Experience with Content Management Systems.Experience with task management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Slack, Trello, and Microsoft Teams.
