The Company
Wilker Auto Conversions (Wilker) is one of the leading vehicle converters in Ireland and the UK and is now growing to become an internationally recognised vehicle conversion specialist. It is headquartered in Clara Co. Offaly and also has a production facility in Sandbach, Cheshire UK. Employing c. 120 people the T/O is approximately Euro 30 million.
Wilker provides vehicle conversions for the ambulance services, fire services, GARDA and military as well as customised vehicles for the commercial & industrial sectors. Our extensive customer base extends throughout Ireland, England, Scotland & Wales, The Isle of Wight and Jersey, with Exports to Cyprus, Trinidad & Tobago and Abu Dhabi.
Due to its ongoing growth the company has identified the need for an additional Production Manager to work within its Operations Team
Production Manager
This role is a key appointment for Wilker, contributing to the company's future growth and success. The ideal candidate will hold a third-level qualification and possess at least three years of experience, preferably in the automotive conversion sector, or a minimum of two years in marine, auto/electric, fleet maintenance/support, or high-volume light engineering industries.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
* Production Management: Proven hands-on experience managing production in a multi-skilled environment. Familiarity with engineering documentation, drawings, and participation in design meetings is essential.
* Quality & Compliance: Experience working within a regulated quality management system. Accountable for team output quality and adherence to designs and company standards.
* Project and Process Development: Develop and implement process documentation to streamline production in line with approved designs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and exceed targets.
* Budget & Scheduling: Manage assigned budgets, meet cost targets, and optimize labour utilization while ensuring customer delivery commitments are met. Oversee subcontractor compliance with schedules and company policies.
* HR Administration: Handle direct reports' HR needs, including leave, overtime, absenteeism, and training.
* Policy Implementation: Enforce company Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental policies.
* Strategic Contribution: Participate actively in the management team, shaping growth strategies, improving selling propositions, and contributing to tender presentations to attract new business opportunities.
Skills & Competencies:
* Strong project/program management and communication skills.
* High computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Project, Access; ERP systems experience advantageous).
* Proficiency in developing and reviewing engineering and production documentation.
* Adaptability to a dynamic engineering environment with evolving regulatory requirements.
* Detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and capable of engaging with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
Salary: A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate

Pay: €30,000.00-€60,000.00 per year
