Lighting Controls Engineer
A need has arisen for an enthusiastic Lighting Controls Engineer to join a dynamic lighting team. The Lighting Control Engineer designs and/or specifies bluetooth lighting control systems used using Casambi and Plejd systems. The role provides level controls integration to the lighting design team, optimises elements of the lighting controls system for best performance, and tests compatibility at various levels such as fixture level. The position creates, executes, and summarises test and evaluation plans for assigned projects, in house preprogramming and on-site commissioning and handover.
Additionally, the Lighting Control Engineer prepares and releases standard documentation for assigned projects, provides multi-discipline support for resolving technical issues associated with control components, products, or systems, and provides recommendations for cost reduction efforts.
This person will have hands-on work experience with different wired and wireless control systems in the lighting space. Related experience developing advanced control systems, preferably with a luminaire manufacturer that produces LED-based products would be advantageous.
The role demands a very good understanding of network principles and practices. Staying abreast of the latest technologies is essential, to allow Wink lighting to establish and maintain a leading position in the connected lighting solutions market. It is important to maintain good communication with our strategic partners and have a deep understanding of the technologies used, both by our partners and by Wink Lighting.
Understanding of different dimmer topologies and architectures such as: DALI, DMX, 0-10V, ZigBee and BLE Mesh.
You must be a team player and have a good attitude to tackle tasks head-on and be able to collaborate cross-functionally.
How you will contribute:
* Grasping an understanding of the autonomy of our controls portfolio (systems & devices).
* Managing the day-to-day enquiries relating to controls systems and required controls philosophies.
* Liaising with sales and customers to present solutions and defining customer requirements.
* Prepare and release documentation for assigned projects, provide multi-discipline support for resolving technical issues associated with controls components, products, or systems.
* Compiling and maintaining standard work documentation to support the integration, installation, and assembly test instructions of control’s device/systems.
* Daily interaction with the engineering team to ask questions on standard products and modification proposals to suit the addition of controls.
* Interaction with the on-site enquiries from various project types.
* Preparation of systems on the workbench and coordinating with the onsite contractors.
* Staying abreast of the latest regulations and legislations related to controls protocols.
* Additional duties such as assisting with on-site commissioning and after sales enquiries and production issues.
Key requirements of the role:
* A can-do diligent attitude with a willingness to learn is essential.
* Attention to detail and ability to follow processes and document is essential.
* Proficient use of MS Office (& CAD is an advantage).
* Ability to work well in cross-functional team environments.
* Hands-on work experience with different wired and wireless control systems in the lighting space.
* Good working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
* Ability to communicate effectively and remain professional in circumstances under pressure.
* Ability to work to tight schedules/deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
* Ability to create and maintain documentation to support controls integration (devices & systems).
The role is both office and site-based, with a current estimated split of 50-50 office time and on site. We expect that after sales support could be done remotely from the office, but site visits are expected to happen on a normal basis during design and commissioning.

Pay: €30,313.79-€58,456.26 per year
