Excel Healthcare is proud to partner with one of Ireland’s leading disability services providers to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist.
We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist who is enthusiastic about making a positive impact in the lives of children with disabilities, to join an established Children’s Disability Network Team in a coastal suburb in south Dublin.
In this role, you will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, gaining invaluable exposure to innovative practices and a supportive work environment.
Role Purpose
To work as a senior member of the inter/trans-disciplinary team providing services to children and families within the south Dublin region. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an occupational therapy service to include assessment diagnostics and intervention, clinical and performance supervision and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities in the early intervention service. Services are provided to children aged 0 – 18 years with physical, sensory, learning disabilities, developmental delay and autism.
The Team is a well-established and very experienced multidisciplinary team. You will work alongside an experienced specialist team of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Behaviour therapists and Psychologists. Key Responsibilities:
1. Be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and review of occupational therapy intervention programs for children supported by the Children’s Disability Network Team.
2. This is needs-based and focused on achieving outcomes that are defined and prioritized by the child and their family through the Individual Family Service Plan meeting.
3. Attend and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure integrated goal setting and support for children and their families.
4. Prioritize caseload based on clinical needs of the child and as agreed with the family through an IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan).
5. Document all assessments, intervention plans, progress notes, and reports in accordance with professional standards.
6. Arrange and carry out duties in a timely manner within settings appropriate to service users and in line with service policy/guidelines.
7. Maintain quality standards of practice and participate in quality assurance and clinical audit as appropriate.
8. Become familiar with and work in accordance with relevant HSE policies, HIQA standards, Progressing Disabilities, legislation and professional policies, guidelines, and requirements to ensure safe practice and high standards of service delivery.
9. Promote a culture that values equality, diversity, and respect in the workplace.
10. Become familiar with the key National policy documents for children disability services such as the National Access policy, National policy on prioritization of referral among others.
11. Work in accordance with relevant HSE policies, Assessment of Need SOP, HIQA standards, and professional policies, guidelines and requirements to ensure safe practice and high standards of service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy Studies or equivalent qualification. Professional Qualifications received outside the Republic of Ireland including the U.K must be validated by the Validation unit of CORU prior to commencement of employment.
2. Registered with CORU as an Occupational Therapist.
3. Membership or eligibility for membership of the Irish Association of Occupational Therapists.
4. Minimum of three years satisfactory post qualification experience.
5. Full drivers License/Access to a car.
