DETAILS OF THE ROLE
Summary:
As part of the Asset Management team, the primary responsibility of the role is to lead, support and provide technical solutions for the Operations and Maintenance services to renewable and BESS energy assets. Your main responsibilities are to keep all the services being conducted on sites on track, supervise and technically support contractors, act as the owner’s engineer and ensure proper operation of the assets, maximizing availability and performance. The assets include solar modules, inverters, transformer stations, power backup systems, diesel generators, MV and HV substations, weather stations, CCTV systems, etc. We ensure that these services are delivered safely and in accordance with contractual standards and specifications.
Key responsibilities:
1. Support the technical OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE services of all sites.
2. Be on site and represent the company during the main services being conducted by contractors.
3. Manage maintenance contracts efficiently, striving to reduce maintenance costs and contributing to maximum revenue.
4. Troubleshoot and conduct root-cause analysis.
5. Define and manage the required spares for cable & associated accessories for the projects.
6. Ensure Design, Installation, Testing, & documentation are aligned with the required regulatory requirements & quality.
7. Analyse and validate all information provided by the contractors.
8. Provide technical information and knowledge to support decisions.
9. Manage and direct staff, contractors, and subcontractors on the entire maintenance aspect, including all local safety, health, and environmental requirements.
10. Supervise and control daily operation of facility, established working practices, work and asset management systems.
11. Be the technical responsible and point of contact for all the sites in the operation phase.
12. Ensure the maximum availability and performance of the renewable energy power plants.
13. Manage stakeholder relationships, liaising with landowners and managing staff, contractors and subcontractors on site regarding all elements of maintenance.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; a master’s degree is a plus.
2. Minimum 5 years working with renewable energy OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE.
3. Experience managing contractors.
4. Familiarity with HV & MV substations, transformer centres, solar modules, and inverters in utility scale.
5. In-depth knowledge of solar/battery storage technologies.
6. Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
7. Multi-skilled electro-mechanical knowledge and experience.
8. Experience with data logging and communication systems.
9. LV & HV fault-finding and analysis experience.
10. Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues efficiently.
11. Knowledge of balance of plant applicable to solar farms.
12. Experience in managing multiple stakeholders related to asset operations and maintenance.

OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION
1. Health and Safety is a key element for both you and those on site – these sites are live.
2. You are required to travel to sites regularly (60-70% of time on site). More remote sites will require overnight stay when necessary.
