As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the Manager in various accountancy tasks and administrative workstreams.
Responsibilities
* Bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and invoice processing
* Operation of payroll and Revenue Online Service (ROS) filings
* Monitoring debtors and arrears
* Bank reconciliations and payments
* Preparation and filing of VAT reports
* Preparation and filing of income tax returns
* Preparation of accounts for sole traders and rental properties
* Identifying and implementing process improvements for clients, including transitioning to cloud-based accounting software
* Assisting with the implementation of new accounting tools for clients
* Performing other ad-hoc office and administrative duties
Key Requirements
* Qualification as an Accountant, Bookkeeper, Accounts Technician, or Tax Technician
* Experience and enthusiasm for working with small and medium-sized business clients
* Payroll experience
* Strong technological skills
* Exceptional attention to detail
* ROS filings experience
* Proven experience in a similar role
* Strong Excel skills
* Familiarity with software such as Sage, SAGE Micropay, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
* Experience with income tax computations and returns
