Job Description:
Engineering Facilities Manager
An Engineering Facilities Manager is required to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of all engineering systems in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
This role ensures that all systems comply with stringent safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the maintenance and operation of engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, and critical infrastructure.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, safety standards, and engineering codes.
* Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
* Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
* Monitor and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and reliability.
* Respond promptly to engineering-related emergencies, implementing effective solutions to minimize disruption.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits of systems and equipment, identifying areas for improvement.
* Collaborate with contractors, and vendors to support operational goals.
* Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, compliance, and system performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent qualification.
* Extensive experience in facilities management, with a focus on engineering systems.
* Strong knowledge of building systems, critical infrastructure, and compliance standards in various settings.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to facility challenges.
* Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an asset.
* Strong organizational and communication skills to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
