The Automation Engineer will report directly to the Automation Engineer Supervisor. The Maintenance Automation Engineer will be responsible for the day to day functionality of all GWWO automated systems in the GWWO Manufacturing and Packaging facilities. This will include both preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting and end user support. The Maintenance Automation Engineer will be a developer on the control systems which they have vendor led training on, and have a track record of successfully developing, programming, and integrating projects with. The Maintenance Automation Engineer will support any project work that require automation resources and will ensure all work in complaint with Grifols Engineering standards and GAMP5.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the Automated systems project for the New Albumin purification and Filling facility
2. Develop and maintain the SOP’s related to the associated Automated systems
3. Lead and support the development of all necessary support system documentation related to the Automation systems.
4. Support the Validation of the Automated systems designed specifically for the Manufacturing process
5. Proactively provide technical support to the manufacturing operations department in order to ensure that the Automated systems are implemented and can be operated and supported within the Grange castle facility
6. Provide technical lead support for requirements for understanding and implementing the MES, SAP and other related systems
7. Ensuring that the Automated systems are maintained in a validated condition and associated documentation.
8. Require active and engaged participation in the site tier processes (routine operations support processes) as well as supporting a culture of continuous improvement at the site.
9. Responsible for the delivery of Automation and Control Systems from the beginning (design) right the way through to the end (commissioning and validation) and all the phases of the project.
10. Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
11. Ability to train existing maintenance technicians on systems for prolific use and understanding of the systems
12. Work in conjunction with, or under own guidance to develop and program new additions to existing systems. Test and validate the work and present them along with the relevant documentation to the automation supervisor
KEY COMPETENCIES
13. Minimum 2 – 3 years relevant experience
14. Experience in implementing automation projects in Siemens Step7 and/or TIA Portal Step7 and/or AB Studio 5000 PLC Programming languages (LAD/SCL)
15. Experience in implementing SCADA or HMI projects in any of the market leading software packages (SIMATIC WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware or Zenon)
16. Database experience, such as MS SQL Server.
17. A working knowledge of a CAD design package
18. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines including in house Engineering, Operations, Quality and Product Development, partners, and contractors, as well as customer IT and Operations groups.
19. Excellent understanding of GAMP
20. Excellent understanding of electrical schematic drawings and P&ID’s.
21. Familiar with digital electronic regulations such as 21 CFR part 11 and EU Annex 11.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
22. PLC and SCADA programming experience on systems such as Siemens TIA portal. Allen Bradley Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk V12, AVEVA SP 2017, Siemens PCS7 V9.0. Siemens TIA Portal versions 13 - 17
23. Able to read and understand technical documents including Electrical, P &ID, Functional Specifications, Design Specifications, Grafcet/Process flow charts.
24. Able to work on electrical panels for the purpose of connection to automated equipment and/or replacement/repair of such equipment
25. Working within a virtual engineering environment such as vSphere VMware
26. CISCO networking experience, specifically for CISCO IE-2000-8TC-G-E switches
Qualifications
27. Relevant third level qualification(s) such as Bsc in Computer Science, BEng in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or BEng in Automation
28. 3rd party systems training. PCS7 integration training level 1, level 2 etc.
