DescriptionAs the Airfield Development Program Lead, you will oversee the successful delivery of airfield infrastructure projects, including the strategic underpass development.
A key aspect of your role will be to generate and cultivate innovative ideas that enhance airport operations and improve the airfield environment. Representing the client, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects meet the capital program's objectives, align with the airport’s long-term growth strategy, and comply with regulatory and safety standards. This role involves managing stakeholder relationships, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget while supporting the overall goals of Dublin Airport. ResponsibilitiesProject Proposal Development
Prepare detailed project proposals that outline the rationale, objectives, scope, and expected outcomes for the airfield development projects.
Include stakeholder input to ensure comprehensive and well-informed proposals.
Highlight the anticipated benefits of each project, including improvements in airfield efficiency, enhanced safety measures, and positive impacts on passenger experience.
Feasibility Assessment
Review and approve comprehensive feasibility studies for selected project ideas, evaluating technical, financial, and operational implications.
Collaborate with Infrastructure, operations, and safety teams to analyse the practicality of proposed solutions, considering factors such as cost, implementation timelines, and alignment with existing airfield operations.
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each idea and develop mitigation strategies to address them early in the planning process.
Business Requirements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements.
Ensure project objectives align with the strategic goals of Dublin Airport.
Translate business needs into technical specifications and project deliverables.
Regulatory Approvals
Identify and secure all necessary regulatory approvals and permits.
Prepare and submit required documentation for regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement
Establish strong relationships with air traffic control, airlines, airport operations, and other key stakeholders.
Facilitate regular communication and updates with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and address concerns.
Organize and lead stakeholder meetings and workshops to maintain engagement and support.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate activities across various functional teams, including engineering, construction, operations, and safety.
Conduct cross-functional reviews to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and integrated.
Resolve inter-departmental issues and foster collaboration among teams.
Change Risk Assessment
Co-ordinate development and ongoing management of Change Risk Assessment to ensure that safety and security risks are adequately identified and addressed.
Ensure risk assessments are updated regularly and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Safety and Security
Uphold the highest standards of safety and security throughout the project.
Ensure projects are reviewed by Safety Committees and escalated when necessary.
Reporting and Documentation
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, risk assessments, and regulatory submissions.
Prepare regular status reports for the client and senior management.
Document lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
QualificationsExperience
Minimum of 10 years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in an aviation environment.
Proven track record of successful project delivery within complex, regulated environments.
Strong knowledge of aviation safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
