Our client, a national leader in the transport industry is looking for an expert Transport Operations Manager to join an expanding operation in north Dublin for a permanent position.
Transport Operations Manager
Our client is an Irish owned haulage, logistics and container depot. The family business operates throughout Ireland, UK and Europe offering tailored services to each of their clients.
We are looking to speak to for highly skilled and experienced Transport/Warehouse/ Operations Managers with a strong background in transportation or logistics. The ideal candidate will have proven experience overseeing departments in customer support, tech support, service delivery, and warehousing driving continuous improvements.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategies to optimise the organization's operational efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Manage day-to-day operations, including planning, organising, and controlling activities within the organisation.
3. Oversee customer support, tech support, service delivery, and warehousing departments including container depot.
4. Establish and maintain relationships with staff and key stakeholders, vendors, customers, and other business partners.
5. To ensure that critical positions in the transport division is overseen by trained, dedicated, and experienced personnel.
6. To ensure that our customers receive the highest levels of service & customer focus.
7. Analyse operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
9. Monitor and manage budgets, including identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
10. To ensure that business risks are evaluated on a regular basis and appropriate measures are taken to minimize them.
Requirements:
11. Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, or a related field.
12. Experience in transportation or logistics operations management.
13. Proven experience managing customer support, tech support, service delivery, and warehousing departments.
14. Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
15. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
16. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
17. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
18. Experience with budget management and financial analysis.
