The Product Sustaining Team (PST is looking for an Electrical Engineer to help drive product and process improvements for AWS infrastructure that are in the sustainability phase of the product lifecycle. If you like to design electrical systems, understand the critical equipment needs for a data center, and understand the constructability of varying designs we’d like to meet you.
Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical engineering and reliability
• Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review.
• Listen to the voice of the customer to understand if there are improvements that can be made to increase product reliability or availability
• Work with global supplier and manufacturers to design product improvements, and to oversee root cause analysis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of experience with electrical controls systems.
• Project experience with low voltage (LV) distribution systems with focus on protection relay, circuit breaker, switchgear and transformer systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of typical data center designs/architectures, and be following industry design trends.
• Knowledge and experience to interpret electric code NEC, NFPA, UL891, UL508, ANSI C37 or IEC 62271 or IEC61439.
• Experience with Relay and instrumentation control schematics.
• Familiarity of manufacturing, Quality control and application of the products such as Switchgear, relays, PLC and related controls.
• Experience with the design or operation of data centers or substations
• Ability to research designs, technologies, and develop new strategies for data center equipment
• Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into prototyping/manufacturing
