Job Title: Underwriter

A seasoned Underwriter is sought after to join an International Insurance Group specializing in the construction industry. This role, fully remote and reporting directly to the Underwriting Director in the UK, entails managing a portfolio of business for ROI.
This position is designed for technical Underwriters comfortable working remotely within a virtual team. Our client has a dedicated Sales Team focused on winning new business, while this Underwriter will concentrate on Underwriting duties.

Your Role:
* Evaluate insurance applications and assess associated risks.
* Examine risk factors encompassing construction methods, client profiles, and background information.
* Apply the Insurers Binding Agreement to determine suitable insurance premiums.
* Apply terms and conditions to quotations and final documentation.
* Collaborate with Technical Underwriting to underwrite latent defects risks.
* Manage risks for individual residential properties and large, mixed-use properties with reinstatement values up to €20,000,000 for any single continuous structure.
* Process new quotation enquiries and mid-term adjustments.
* Liaise effectively with Brokers, Direct, and Technical Inspection Surveyors throughout the underwriting process.
* Ensure all necessary information is obtained and accurately recorded in our advanced in-house IT system.
* Maintain a thorough understanding of underwriting principles and the general insurance market.
* Refer high-value risks above €20,000,000 to Senior Management and present them to the Insurer.
* Issue final insurance certification upon project completion.
* Incorporate relevant policy wording in final documentation.
Your Skills:
* Demonstrate a solid grasp of underwriting principles and the general insurance market.
* Proven experience in underwriting, customer service, and risk analysis.
* Strong numerical and verbal reasoning abilities.
* Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
* Able to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
* Minimum of three years of experience in underwriting or related field.
* Prior experience in latent defects cover or financial underwriting preferred.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
