This is a highly sales-focused position. The Business Development Manager will focus on targeting and building new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, engaging with the community in Midleton & East Cork, and increasing revenue, particularly in the food & beverage, meetings, events and weddings space.
The Business Development Manager will report to the General Manager and the Group Commercial Manager. They will work closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager who will focus primarily on rooms revenue and growth, and digital marketing.
Main Duties:
* Support the General Manager and Group Commercial Manager in achieving budgeted sales;
* Build strong and lasting client relationships in the community of Midleton and East Cork, ensuring that Talbot Hotel Midleton is the preferred choice for all dining and events;
* Identify and convert new business opportunities through proactive outreach;
* Maintain and build on relationships with existing client accounts to maximise revenue;
* Confidently conduct regular face-to-face sales calls with local businesses, corporates and within the community;
* Present a tailored presentation to potential clients as required by effectively using a range of presentation skills;
* Undertake telesales calls to secure and drive revenue growth and generation;
* Identify and analyse competition, both locally and regionally; monitoring industry, guest, client and corporate trends;
* Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring long-term success and maximised revenue;
* Collaborate closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager and Operations teams to ensure a consistent product, consistent sales strategy, align goals and drive performance;
* Represent the hotel at key industry events, community events, tradeshows, consumer shows events, exhibitions and networking opportunities throughout the year;
* Produce weekly reports which will support your weekly Sales activities;
The successful candidate will:
* Have relevant Sales Qualifications;
* Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a Sales management role;
* Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in F&B and C&B Sales within the hospitality industry;
* Be results/targets driven, and client focused;
* Be self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working on their own initiative;
* Have a strong outgoing personality, with excellent presentation skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Must thrive in a front-facing role and enjoy networking;
* Be a natural relationship builder;
* Full driving licence and own means of transport;
