Job Description:
The Depot Manager will be responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and their employees on site. They will ensure that all safety, health, environmental, and quality compliance goals are achieved and maintained in accordance with registered standards.
Safety Responsibilities:
* Familiarize themselves with specific safety requirements for their work area.
* Work with the SHEQ team to drive a culture of safe work practices across the depot.
* Direct resources as needed to resolve urgent depot issues in a safe and efficient manner.
Quality Responsibilities:
* Ensure yield and quality targets are met.
* Work with the Quality Team to produce high-quality products.
* Maintain work standards as required by accredited Quality compliance standards.
* Ensure all depot documentation is completed according to GMP standards.
* Collaborate in internal and external audits.
Delivery Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the entire Depot Team to achieve manufacturing output goals.
* Ensure daily production and delivery schedules are met.
* Ensure appropriate production resources are in place at all times to deliver the daily/weekly production plan.
* Forecast operational requirements/resources in advance based on future production schedules, projects, etc., to ensure production targets are met.
Inventory Management Responsibilities:
* Work with the Finance/Purchasing team to control and manage depot inventory to ensure required tank inventories are in place to meet customer demand.
* Interface and utilize internal software systems to support daily work tasks and inventory management control.
* Forecast operational requirements/resources based on future depot schedules, projects, etc., to ensure depot targets are met.
* Manage ship-offload process including required manpower and costs.
Order Entry/Customer Service Responsibilities:
* Work with the Depot/Order Entry Admin to ensure all customer orders and deliveries are loaded onto the ERP System and delivered within agreed lead times.
Process Improvement Responsibilities:
* Be an active member in all continuous improvement initiatives across operations in areas of Quality, Safety, Cost, and People (e.g., COL).
* Reduce and manage waste material in a cost-effective manner.
* Elaborate new operation procedures and update existing ones.
* Supervise assigned depot projects to eliminate waste material or inefficient processing.
* Report all process and equipment issues to the Engineering Manager/Technical & R&D Director via Limbal and support the development of an effective Preventative Maintenance Program for the site.
People Leadership & Management Responsibilities:
* Create and maintain a positive work environment across the plant.
* Performance management of all direct reports - ensuring proactive employee relations and speak-up/collaborative culture.
* Manage the internal Time and Attendance system for all assigned staff and submit to Payroll/Operations Manager.
* Manage all overtime, holidays, full performance management cycle including annual reviews, lead any disciplinary actions including PIPs.
* Ensure each team member has a clear training plan in place with succession plans in place for the whole team.
* Ensure clear lines of communication exist across all functional groups on the site.
* Facilitate the Weekly Operations Review Meeting.
* Provide technical support and direction to all Depot Staff/Operators and Engineers.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience working within the chemical manufacturing industry at supervisory management level.
* Proven capacity for the execution and coordination of all Production activities.
* Proven management and leadership ability.
* Experience in equipment and technology design, selection, testing, and procurement.
* Proven Management and Leadership Skills.
* Excellent Communication skills with peers and direct reports.
* Ability to manage time effectively through effective delegation of tasks.
* Self-driven with experience in continuous improvement methods such as lean and other best practice productivity processes.
Qualifications:
* BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng, in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or Science equivalent.
