Otter Products is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team! Our mission as stewards of Otter’s resources, assets and financial plans facilitates our day-to-day responsibilities of providing accurate and timely financial information to the Otter Products International Leadership Team, other departments and outside sources. This position is critical to the team’s ability to achieve departmental goals and strategies. Otter Products is a rapidly growing multinational company looking for a candidate who has experience in accounting and reporting systems, as well as managing aspects of indirect tax (EU VAT, With Holding Tax etc) compliance. This Otter will possess broad accounting knowledge, strong analytical skills and good interpersonal skills. Responsibilities
Assist with production of group monthly management accounts, including P&L accounts, KPI’s and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.Support the review and analysis of group GL codes on an ongoing basis.Manage intercompany accounts processing & reconciliations.Assist in preparation of group-audited accounts and liaise with external auditors.Ensure accounting systems and policies are adhered to.Responsible for accurate and timely preparation, completion and filing of group VAT returns and all trade compliance work (VAT returns, ESL, Intrastat, annual returns, voluntary disclosures, where applicable, and any other ad hoc returns).Provide support to AR & AP functions as required.Support Finance Controller on group Corporation Tax filings.Responsible for key partner account management by partnering with relevant internal stakeholders to resolve account escalations and reconciliations.Responsible for group trade compliance – VAT, Corporation Tax, Payroll Tax, Customs and liaising with external providers.Support the Financial Controller by partnering with HR to process monthly payrolls. Exercise superior professional judgment to do what is right for the company and the customer at all times while being discreet with confidential and sensitive information.Demonstrate an adaptability and openness to change, whether it be in objectives, roles or procedures.Continuously strive for improvements and efficiencies in the accounting processes & procedures that supports the sustainable growth of the business.Support internal compliance and training through effective documentation of accounting processes and procedures.Analytical review of the monthly P&L. Investigating variances and flagging areas not aligned to plan as part of monthly close review.Partner with other departments to support the execution of company strategic objectives.Produce financial analysis reports for company departments to support KPI & budgetary control.Partner with Finance Controller on ad-hoc and strategic project as and when required.Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Professional accounting body qualification (ACCA/ACA/CGMA/CPA) is required. Minimum 4+ years’ PQE within a medium to large multinational company.EMEA wide industry experience is required.Understanding of EU VAT would be beneficial.Experience working with an Accounting ERP system is required.Strong track record of taking a primary role with month end close for a variety of EU countries is required.Accurate attention to detail and ability to manage external stakeholders. Advanced MS Excel skills is required. Proficient in Microsoft Office® and ability to quickly learn new programs.Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, problem solve, and meet deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively and partner to a variety of internal stakeholders.Ability to be the best steward of company resources, conducting oneself in a way that radiates integrity, honesty, and trust.Willingness to learn and evolve with an ever-changing department, company, and field.Fluent written & verbal English is required. Another European language would be highly desirable.
