We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Category Manager to lead and manage the sourcing and procurement activities within the construction and facilities spend categories. This role will play a crucial part in optimising procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective project delivery.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for the construction and facilities categories, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
* Lead the RFx (Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, etc.) processes, including supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including construction management, finance, and operations, to ensure seamless project delivery and effective supplier partnerships.
* Manage agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards, while driving value and mitigating risk.
* Analyse procurement data and generate reports to provide insights that support decision-making and evaluate performance within the category.
* Develop, manage, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure category, supplier, and project performance.
* Leverage technology and analytic tools to enhance category management practices, drive data-driven decision-making, and support innovation.
* Lead strategic projects aimed at process improvement, strategy implementation, and innovation within the category.
Skills and Expertise:
* Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management/Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 7 years of experience in sourcing, category management, or procurement roles, with a focus on managing construction, facilities, or logistics spend categories.
* Proven experience in sourcing strategies, project delivery options, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within designated categories.
* Strong experience in managing agreements and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
