Laboratory IT Application Analyst - Limerick, Ireland
Overview
The IT Applications Analyst is responsible for the implementation, system maintenance and on-going support of various IT Applications.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for application-specific documentation, including converting user requirement specifications to a detail design specification, writing configuration test plans, test scripts, and summary reports.
2. Ensuring the System meets the needs of the users.
3. Managing and Supporting multiple Applications simultaneously.
4. Performs application monitoring and performance tuning.
5. Recommends and installs Application updates, patches, services packs, and hot fixes.
6. Monitors applications for readiness, availability, and trend analysis.
7. Identifies and resolves application inconsistencies and defects.
8. Logs application support incidents and prepares appropriate resolution plans.
9. Provides end-user support for assigned applications including troubleshooting problems at the application server level.
10. Performs administration activities such as user accounts, roles, access, and privileges.
11. Researches application problems/issues and prepares appropriate resolution plan.
12. Processes appropriate application change control requests.
13. Works with Validation and Quality Assurance departments to ensure applications are implemented, validated and maintained in accordance with regulatory and corporate guidelines.
Required Experience:
1. Experience fulfilling company requirements for documentation and training in a regulatory environment i.e. GMP, healthcare, banking or financial.
2. Experience administering Windows 7 and Windows 10 in an enterprise environment.
3. Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware, operating systems, applications and network issues in an enterprise environment.
4. Experience working in pharmaceutical and/or QC Lab environment, or highly regulated environment an advantage.
Skills and Education:
1. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
2. 5+ years’ experience in an IT Onsite Support environment (3 years at Level 3 or Team Lead).
3. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
4. Preferred, 1+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical and/or QC Lab environment.

1. Talking to staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
2. Provide a seamless service to Client users.
3. Update Project Manager about potential issues.
4. Working continuously on a task or problem until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
5. Working with the client prioritizing and managing of assigned tasks.
