Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial stability and sustainability of our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in line with SORP standards.
* Collaborate with departmental heads to create, monitor, and manage budgets.
* Oversee external audits, ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, and maintain accurate financial records.
* Manage grant applications, reporting, and funding allocations to ensure alignment with our objectives.
* Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with PAYE and VAT regulations.
* Develop and improve financial systems and processes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting, ideally with exposure to the charity or non-profit sector.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge, including familiarity with SORP.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Excel.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
