Major Projects - Programme Manager / Project Director
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager/Project Director to lead our dynamic engineering consultancy team in Ireland.
The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of complex infrastructure projects, focusing on water sector projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to quality standards, and client satisfaction.
This role requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, with expertise in administering NEC contracts and utilising project management software and tools.
The immediate task for the successful candidate will be as Programme Delivery Manager for the Irish Water Supply Project - a 170km pipeline and treatment plant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Lead planning, execution, and delivery of water engineering projects, adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
* PMO Management: Manage PMO Manager and team across large individual projects or across a programme of projects.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, control expenditures, and ensure financial targets are achieved.
* Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for programme delivery, aligning with the company's goals and objectives.
* Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Requirements:
* Educational Background: Third level qualification (Level 8 or equivalent) in engineering, project management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and chartership (Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional institution) are highly desirable.
* Experience: Proven experience in delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, including water, transport, or utilities sectors.
* Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, proficiency in administering NEC contracts, and utilising project management software and tools.
* Knowledge: Understanding of water engineering principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
