As an Electronic Health Record SME, you will leverage your background and expertise in Epic or Cerner systems to act as a primary advisor between end-users, project team members and other information technology resources. Your guidance and insights will be instrumental in shaping transformation healthcare solutions. We are interested in applications from individuals with at least 1 active Epic or Cerner certification, with the enthusiasm and drive to continue to broaden their experience.

Working Arrangements
Occasionalafter-workhours may be required to support emergency response and operational needs.
Please note:There would be an initial training program on joining where there may be an expectation to work adjusted hours, depending on trainer location/availability. Following this, hours would be standard local hours with a need for some flexibility when working with US clients.
Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.
Primary responsibilities of the EHR Subject Matter Expert (Epic/Cerner):
• Lead medium to large complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases
• Provide Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise and experience for assigned Epic module(s)
• Collaborate with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements
• Participate in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up and issue escalation occurs
• Provide technical and/or clinical consultation including application configuration. Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers
• Serve as a mentor/subject matter expert to local and client-based team members
• Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software
• Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation

Required Experience:
• Deep experience of Epic or Cerner systems, with active / current Epic or Cerner certification in at least one area.
• Direct client healthcare domain knowledge such as clinical documentation workflow, patient portal, closing encounters, and patient flow
• Ability to take on a new application or project area with proven success
• Managing application specific work plans at the resource and task level
• Degree education or equivalent experience

• Capable to lead and work well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
