Production Supervisor, County Cavan
Role Overview:
The Production Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily activities in a manufacturing environment, ensuring that operations run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with quality standards. This role involves coordinating workflows, managing staff, and meeting production objectives while fostering a safe and collaborative workplace. The focus is on maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime, while maintaining high-quality standards.
Operating within a regulated environment, the Production Team Lead oversees all aspects of their assigned area, including resource allocation, adherence to processes, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership
o Direct and oversee the activities of the production workforce, including Team Leaders where applicable.
o Plan and allocate resources effectively, ensuring team members are accountable for achieving targets.
o Provide training and guidance on equipment use and processes.
o Conduct performance reviews and address any team concerns.
o Mentor and develop team members, identifying potential talent for growth opportunities.
2. Operational Management
o Monitor production workflows to ensure schedules and specifications are met.
o Enforce quality control standards and identify areas for improvement.
o Resolve operational challenges promptly to minimize disruptions.
o Ensure production goals are met within set timelines and budget constraints.
3. Safety and Compliance
o Promote and uphold workplace safety standards and procedures.
o Conduct regular safety checks and ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
4. Inventory and Equipment Oversight
o Ensure materials, tools, and machinery are available and ready for use.
o Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the supply chain team to prevent shortages.
o Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to maintain uninterrupted production.
5. Reporting and Collaboration
o Maintain accurate records of production metrics, such as output, efficiency, and quality.
o Prepare and present reports on production performance and challenges to management.
o Collaborate with other departments, including quality assurance, logistics, and design teams, to enhance efficiency.

* Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong understanding of production operations, machinery, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:
* Degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Certification in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is an advantage.
