Job Title: MICE and Leisure Groups Sales ManagerReporting to: Group Sales & Marketing DirectorContract: Full-Time, Specific-Term (Maternity Cover)Job Purpose:The MICE and Leisure Groups Sales Manager is responsible for driving Group Sales and Revenue for both Cork International Hotel and The Metropole Hotel, focusing on the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions market as well as Leisure groups. This role involves the proactive development of new business, managing key accounts and annual events, and implementing tight revenue management strategies to deliver budgets in C&B by supporting the development of the C&B Sales Offices.Key Responsibilities:Sales and Business Development:Proactively source, pursue, and secure new group business opportunities in the MICE and leisure group markets for both Cork International Hotel and The Metropole Hotel.Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners and group organisers.Conduct site visits and presentations at both properties to prospective clients, showcasing facilities and services.Develop customised proposals, contracts, and presentations to convert leads into bookings.Actively participate in relevant trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to promote the hotels to new and existing clients.Revenue Generation and Strategic Planning:Collaborate with the Group Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and implement group sales strategies that align with the overall business goals of both hotels.Work closely with the Revenue Management team to establish and achieve annual revenue targets from MICE and leisure groups.Develop reporting procedures for enquiry management and conversion tracking as part of standardised suite of reporting within C&B Sales offices.Create and present regular sales reports, forecasting MICE/C&B/Leisure Groups revenue performance with supporting tactics for gap filling.Track key performance metrics such as leads, conversion rates, and occupancy levels.This role will be split across C&B offices supporting gaps such as Holidays, TOIL, etc., to ensure full cover is maintained during office hours. Responsibility will include prospecting, forecasting, billing, revenue/yield, data management and enquiry pipeline management.Client Relationship Management:Act as the primary point of contact for Leisure Group clients until conversion.Research, implement and roll out a new CRM system for Sales across the Trigon group.Develop strong relationships with repeat and high-value clients, ensuring that both hotels become the preferred venues for their events.Conduct post-event evaluations with clients to gather feedback, resolve any issues, and ensure long-term client satisfaction.Create bespoke packages and special offers to attract and retain Leisure Group business, leveraging the unique strengths of each property.Event Coordination Development:Collaborate with the Conference & Banqueting (C&B) and Operations teams at both hotels to ensure the seamless execution of group events.Have a weekly presence in both hotels C&B Sales Offices to maximise conversion and provide support to the C&B Sales Managers.Monitor the progress of group bookings, ensuring that all client expectations are met by supporting the training and development of the C&B Sales Offices team.Collaboration and Cross-Property Coordination:Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns for Leisure Group sales, highlighting the unique strengths and event possibilities of both Cork International Hotel and The Metropole Hotel.Coordinate cross-property promotions and packages, ensuring that each hotel's facilities complement one another and provide a unified experience for group clients.Assist with training and mentoring junior members of the sales team, ensuring best practices are followed in group sales.Performance IndicatorsRevenue - Achieve budget including accommodation, F&B and room hire with a particular focus on C&B.Enquiry Management - develop report for enquiry handling and conversion tracking. Increase and maintain conversion rate.Pipeline and Lead Generation - maintain a robust pipeline with potential bookings in various stages of the sales process to secure future events and meet long term revenue targets.Repeat Business and Client Retention - A strong focus on delivering exceptional service and maintaining long-term relationships will help drive repeat bookings. Provide reports of customer feedback and opportunities for enhancement.Market Penetration and New Business Development - Secure new clients in both MICE and leisure segments.Competitor Analysis and Market Insights - Conduct at least quarterly competitor analysis reports and market trend assessments, providing actionable insights for sales strategies.Technological Integration: Ensure use of appropriate digital and AI programmes to enhance processes and reporting abilities.Sustainability Initiatives: Highlight and incorporate eco-friendly practices into group bookings and event offerings to attract more clients and increase market share.Data: ensuring that all data is tracked accurately in Guestline leading to effective reporting. Ensuring first-party data management tactics are front and centre to build on MICE/C&B database. Ensuring that billing is timely and accurate.
