Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Network Drivers Team, focusing on Linux kernel network development and collaboration with partners. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for upstream and downstream network drivers activities for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Your expertise in open-source driver development will help shape the future of our network drivers.
What You Will Do:
1. Develop and maintain network drivers for the Linux kernel
2. Collaborate with partners and upstream communities (e.g., Linux kernel maintainers)
3. Contribute to upstream and downstream network drivers activities for RHEL
4. Debug and troubleshoot complex network driver issues
5. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure driver compatibility and stability
6. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
What You Will Bring:
1. Hands-on experience in Linux kernel development, preferably in network drivers
2. Knowledge of C programming and Linux kernel internals
3. Experience with open-source driver development and upstream/downstream processes
4. Familiarity with Linux OS and network driver development for enterprise Linux distributions
5. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
6. Collaboration and communication skills
Nice to Have:
1. Experience with network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet)
2. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
3. Familiarity with Golang is a bonus
