The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Facilities Technician role will make an impact:
1. Work with flexibility within the Engineering Department and in co-operation with other Departments.
2. Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on site facilities and utilities equipment.
3. Report maintenance activities at daily tier meetings, ensuring issues and open items are communicated in a timely and concise manner.
4. Record maintenance activities in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in detail on facilities and utilities equipment in compliance with regulatory as well as cGMP requirements.
5. Develop and maintain a good understanding of site utilities, including HVAC, compressed air, MPHW boilers, chillers, purified water systems, fire alarm, BMS and associated controls.
6. Assist in developing and improving new and existing maintenance plans that are critical to site utilities.
7. Participate in Safety & Environmental training programmes and initiatives, and adhere to safe working practices as set out by the Safety Statement and other company safety rules.
8. Take part in cross-functional training initiatives and support training of others as required.
9. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all the departments’ stakeholders on site.
10. Permit and supervise external contractors on site, ensuring that they adhere to the site safety rules and regulations.
About Your Skills & Experience
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
11. QQI Level 6 electrical trade qualification or equivalent.
12. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities equipment maintenance.
13. Experience in Pharmaceutical or related industries preferable but not essential.
14. Experience in troubleshooting of temperature, humidity, pressure, flow, level, control valves and instrumentation control systems.
15. Experience in statutory compliance, electrical installation, maintenance and electrical fault finding, electrical testing and verification, statutory testing.
16. Experience in carrying out preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on facilities/utilities equipment, HVAC, MPHW/LPHW systems, chillers, pumps, motors, compressors, fire alarms, wastewater treatment plants, purified water systems, repair/maintenance of electrical wiring, outlets, fixtures and lighting.
17. Good Mechanical Aptitude.
18. Experience in the use of a CMMS system.
19. Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365.
20. Good interpersonal skills.
21. Quality mindset with a focus on detail.
