Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team for a large-scale commercial project in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile development with one of Ireland's leading contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full responsibility for cost management and budget control on a large-scale commercial project.
* Manage procurement processes, including tendering, awarding contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships.
* Conduct detailed cost reporting and forecasting to ensure financial transparency and identify potential risks.
* Oversee subcontractor accounts, ensuring payments are made in line with agreed terms.
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, resolving disputes and managing claims effectively.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the commercial team.
* Liaise with key stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and senior management, to ensure project objectives are met.
* Track project deliverables and ensure that commercial and administrative systems, budgets, and cost control procedures are utilised.
* Manage commercial teams to drive successful delivery of all projects and lead the commercial planning and implementation of the project.
* Conduct an in-depth review of all tender documentation, identifying any risks or potential gains.
* Review and approve selected contractors and suppliers.
* Ensure contractual correspondence in accordance with contract terms, including detailed analysis and documentation of EOT notifications and claims.
* Report on actual costs versus estimates, identifying variances and implementing resolutions.
* Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
* Ensure subcontracts are properly prepared and managed Ensure all project team members (including site staff) understand contractual arrangements to meet client and partner requirements.
Requirements
* 5+ years experience in Quantity Surveying, with a proven track record on large-scale commercial projects.
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including RIAI, Public Works, and NEC forms.
* Excellent financial and commercial acumen
