Onsite Overview of the role: The Operator Technician will carry out the required operational duties, in conjunction with the Site Lead and other operator technicians, to ensure optimum plant performance and reliability.
The role is based in the onsite WWTP in Janssen, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork where there are a no.
of processes to treat discharges effluents.
The role may also involve providing support to other water treatment and waste water treatment sites within the locality.
The role will involve effective communication and interaction with management, team members, clients, and suppliers so as to ensure that deliverables and company goals are achieved.
In executing the role it is paramount that Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully respected and taken account of.
Duties of the Role include; Lab Collect samples of water, sludge, source water and processing waste in accordance with established laboratory procedures for analysis Carry out laboratory sampling and analysis Prepare glassware and equipment for laboratory use and perform lab housekeeping duties Perform a variety of basic and advanced chemical, biological and bacteriological tests on water and solids for facility assigned including BOD, COD, suspended solids, nitrogen, phosphorous, pH, pH, temperature, etc.
Perform mathematical calculations and statistical analysis of test results Responsible for safe and documented disposal of spent laboratory chemicals Process Monitoring Monitor the water water process and making required process parameter changes Monitoring of SCADA trends including process flows, process instrumentation readings etc.
to ensure the WWTP processes are operating in accordance with design control philosophy and producing compliant final effluent Monitoring of chemical levels, chemical consumptions, ordering and replenishment of chemicals Involvement in process optimisation Reporting Prepare timely and accurate reporting of activities including operational and maintenance data to management Liaise and interact with the Plant Manager, process technicians and O&M operatives Provision of coaching and support to Operation Technicians to improve their process knowledge and problem solving skills Assist in preparing shift, weekly, monthly and AER reports Maintenance Operate, maintain and perform routine calibrations on laboratory & fixed quality instruments Perform routine checks, reagent check and replenishment, routine calibrations etc on process monitoring instrumentation and equipment.
Perform and assist with routine maintenance on plant and equipment including PM's and CM's.
Complete assigned Work Orders on the computer maintenance system (CMMS-Pirana); Maintain the site to the highest standard of cleanliness On Call Use of remote monitoring tools (Log Me In etc.
)
as appropriate to verify plant condition, and monitoring of alarm dial-outs Assist with On Call as above, typically one week in four Availability for response to plant failures outside normal operation hours in accordance with roster for same, and general availability to assist in remote troubleshooting where appropriate General Provide process support to other waste water & water treatment sites as required Liaise and interact with the Plant Manager and General Manager Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the plant's performance management system and the company's quality management system, safety rules, health and safety legislation and relevant environmental standards Adhere to the company's ethical conduct guidelines and maintain a working environment which is supportive and respectful of other employees Undertake duties of a general nature that may be required by your manager.
Required skills for this role; Previous experience (1-3 years) in industrial process operations would be a distinct advantage Knowledge of Waste Water Treatment Processes and Sludge Treatment Processes Good understanding of quality, environmental and safety management systems This position requires that you must be flexible and available outside of the normal working week to provide/organise immediate assistance to Plant Manager and Clients Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work in a team and/or on own initiative Strong technical capability with attention to detail Strong Problem solving and trouble-shooting skills Effective time management and Communication skills Please note: ?If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.
