Job Title: Quality Control Lead
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Control Lead to join our company in Westmeath. As the Quality Control Lead, you will oversee the quality control team and ensure that products meet our high standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Quality Control team, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure effective performance.
* Oversee daily quality control activities and ensure products are consistently meeting customer specifications and regulatory standards.
* Monitor product quality through inspections, sampling, and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
* Review and approve batch records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements.
* Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality control standards, company policies, and health and safety regulations.
* Assist in the investigation of quality issues and non-conformances, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
* Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and product consistency.
* Maintain and manage the calibration and maintenance of quality control equipment.
* Liaise with production and technical teams to identify areas for improvement and resolve quality-related issues.
* Ensure compliance with relevant food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC, etc.), and monitor any changes in regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and submit quality control reports, including data analysis, trends, and performance metrics.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality control processes and performance.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role, preferably within food manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of quality control systems and methodologies, including HACCP, BRC, and GMP.
* Experience with product testing, inspections, and documentation.
* Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
* Proficient in the use of quality control software and MS Office applications.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* A high attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* A relevant third-level qualification in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field is preferred.
