Job Title: Engineering Manager
To manage and coordinate the activities of the Maintenance Department, providing support for the manufacture of products to the highest standards in a safe, cost-effective, and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
* Provide maintenance/engineering support for product manufacture at the highest standards.
* Lead a team of Maintenance Technicians/Fitters and contractors across the plant, supporting all production departments in line with key business goals.
* Manage the site's equipment preventative maintenance program through the CMMS system.
* Identify critical Plant assets and ensure required spares and PM programs are in place.
* Evaluate factory equipment performance, ensuring it operates within design capacities, throughputs, and effectiveness.
* Develop and manage the factory maintenance budget for approval and maintain site maintenance costs in line with approved targets.
* Demonstrate leadership in safety, ensuring engineering activities comply with health and safety standards.
* Maintain accurate records of plant assets and effective stock control of spare parts for all equipment.
* Ensure the Maintenance team possesses a high level of cross-trained technical capability.
* Select and hire suitable Maintenance technical staff in support of the business.
* Ensure site compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
* Establish contingency responses for out-of-hours and critical failures.
* Continually interface with operations and quality teams to ensure the maintenance function supports business needs.
* Effectively report and communicate with senior management on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications:
* Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical or Electrical).
* 5 years' experience in a maintenance management role.
* A trade qualification with significant previous experience in a similar role would be considered.
* Previous relevant experience in a milk processing regulated environment is an advantage.
* A proven track record in leadership and management of technical staff is required.
