PhD in Quantum Light SourcesContract: Full Time/Fixed TermThe Epitaxy and Physics of Nanostructures (EPN) Group at Tyndall National Institute & University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in experimental quantum technologies. First-week accommodation covered.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct advanced spectroscopic studies on quantum dot-based light sources.Develop and implement photon entanglement schemes for scalable quantum technologies.Participate in Education and Public Engagement activities, as required.Ensure all activities are compliant with the Tyndall Quality Management system.Ensure all activities are compliant with the required Health and Safety standards.Carry out any additional duties as may be reasonably required within the general scope and level of the post. Essential CriteriaFirst-class honours degree (or equivalent) in physics, electronic engineering, or a related field.Strong knowledge of quantum mechanics, optics, or semiconductor physics.Desirable CriteriaHands-on experience in quantum optics, nanophotonics, or cryogenic spectroscopy.Background in experimental techniques related to quantum technologies.The annual stipend is €25,000 pa.
