Financial Accountant - Ireland & United KingdomDublin (Hybrid)
1 Year Fixed Term Contract The Financial Accountant will be part of the Ireland & UK Finance Team and report directly to the Regional Financial Controller (RFC) for this region.
They will be assigned the responsibility and accountability for several aspects of our Irish and UK companies.
The position will support and participate in Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual reporting processes.
This will be a dynamic role offering exposure across the entire finance function.
Once embedded in the role, this position will be hybrid based from our office in River House, East Wall Road, Dublin 3.
Responsibilities: Support the implementation of financial processes and controls to ensure continuous business improvement / correct corporate governance within the region.Assist the RFC to implement finance initiatives across the companies.Working with the Finance Team, preparation, to trial balance stage, of timely Monthly accurate management accounts inclusive of all balance sheet reconciliations.Partner with departments across the business to provide informative analysis on departmental spends.Assist the RFC with the management and improvement of the accounting systems for the region.Assist with the preparation of Annual budgets and forecasts for all entities in the region.Assist with, and ownership of, aspects of Annual financial audits for these companies, liaising with our external auditors and advisors.Support and mentor the Finance Team for the smooth running of the day-to-day functioning of the business.Weekly project cash reporting, entity cash balance reporting and working capital management.Assist the RFC in monitoring commercial Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR's) and reconciling same to the management accounts, including revenue and profit recognition.Reporting on KPI's and ad hoc financial/payroll/cost/margin reports.Assistance where required with the weekly payroll process prior to sign off by the RFC & CFO.Assistance where required with subcontractor payment processing, prior to sign off by the RFC & CFO.Assistance the accounts payable team with Monthly supplier payment runs, prior to sign off by the RFC & CFO.Cost control and reallocation of central overhead costs to other regions.Identifying cost saving opportunities within the companies and wider Group.Assisting with, and completing in full, certain Tax Returns (VAT, RCT, PAYE, VIES).
Ensuring Monthly recollection of all Tax Nominal accounts.Completion of all CSO and other external state agency returns.Provide financial information and assistance to the BID department when they are completing Prequalification submissions.Completion of supply chain due diligence.Assistance with ERP and process improvement projects.Handle other department duties as required from time to time to provide first class service to the wider business.Handle internal and external communication with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.Requirements: Relevant experience within the construction sector is a bonus but not a requisite.Ability to work in a fast-paced role, across several workstreams and to meet deadlines.Highly organised, reliable, self-motivated and solution driven, with the capacity to work autonomously and as part of a high performance team across all entities.Excellent analytical skills.Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with commercial awareness.Strong time management and organisational skills, and ability to prioritise and multi-task and work within tight deadlines.High standard of written and spoken English required to communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels.Eligibility to work in Ireland.Flexible and willing to take on tasks across the business when required.Available to travel to all company locations if required.
