What is the role?
The Process Specialist is responsible for ensuring the production process meets daily safety, quality, delivery and cost targets. The Process Specialist provides effective operational and technical support to the production cell and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained.
What are the key responsibilities?
General
* Effectively control WIP inventory in the work cell
* Be flexible and open to learning and training and support training to colleagues in new processes
* Good timekeeping and attendance.
* Release CSI job headers
OEE (Delivery)
* Responsible to achieve process or equipment OEE target
* Monitor and resolve minor stops and downtime on equipment
* Conduct daily PMs and cleaning of the equipment
* Maintain the designated place of work in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times and ensure all housekeeping requirements are met.
Quality & H&S (Safety & Quality)
* Adhere fully to all health and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
* Monitor yield and address directly or escalate issues to quality and engineering as necessary
* Work with technicians and engineers to improve processes and conduct root cause analysis
* Help to deliver training to new hires in conjunction with the operations trainer
* Demonstrate a quality culture within a team environment, ensuring that procedures and work methods for the area are accurate and fully complied with.
* Complete all required documentation accurately, clearly and completely in line with specific procedures and GMP & GDP standards.
CI / New Process (Cost & Growth)
* Support engineering and technician team in new process introductions and continuous improvement initiatives
* Work with Engineering team to help design and deliver new process equipment in line with capacity expansion
What education and experience are required?
* HETAC Level 6 or Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline or relevant competency in operating automated manufacturing processes at a high skill level
Candidates must be flexible and willing to work within changing priorities on a 3 cycle rotating shift.
What key skills will make you great at the role?
* Ability to read and understand complex manufacturing and production information, including production drawings, work orders, and related manufacturing and quality specifications.
* Technical manufacturing problem-solving skills
* Basic skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel & Outlook)
* Ability to create a safe working environment for self and colleagues
* Experience operating highly automated manufacturing processes
* Medical device manufacturing experience an advantage including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
* Good problem-solving skills (A3, DMAIC, Greenbelt)
* Good knowledge of operating automated equipment including components such as sensors, drives, pneumatics, PLCs, HMI, Cams, fixturing, tooling, feed systems, vision systems and pick & place technology
* Ability to work well with others and pay attention to detail.
* Self-starter with good motivational and inter-personal skills
* Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team to communicate process issues and contribute to root cause analysis and process improvements to eliminate or improve process capability
