With Quality as their primary focus, this group strives to provide access and affordability through innovation and strong collaboration with their R&D and Commercial partners to deliver life-changing solutions for patients in need.The Value Chain Lead – Launch and Growth, Biotherapeutics is accountable for activities, from Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient sourcing/production to Finished Goods distribution, related to strategic oversight and management of new biopharmaceutical products (brands) (from development through commercial optimization). This position will develop the IMSC product strategy, including crafting, updating, and executing the Product Strategic Roadmap (PSR > supply chain lifecycle management plan) for each product/brand in their portfolio. The role will lead the value management team for all IMSC activities and resources that are needed for this portfolio, including sourcing, cost-efficient tech transfer to commercial sites, the launch process in global commercial markets, dual sourcing/business continuity planning and ensuring supply sustainability, including next generations and line extensions, until the product/brand is transferred to the Late-Stage Team.Key Responsibilities:New product introduction strategy and execution in coordination with the Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) & Global Commercial Teams (GCTs) assuring IMSC deliverables to accomplish CMC milestones are met.Initial sourcing of the product, and future sourcing sites as necessary.The strategic direction for the brand relative to the supply chain, developing the Product Strategy Roadmap, preparing the business cases for Life Cycle Management (LCM) prioritization, articulating these business cases to stakeholders to secure funding, and assuring the approved LCM plan is executed by relevant parties within and outside IMSC.The identification, mitigation, and communication of supply chain related risks through the development, launch readiness, and product/process optimization stages.Ensuring the commercial strategy and customer needs are incorporated into the development of the launch strategy, product supply chain strategy, Product Strategy Roadmap (PSR).Championing commercialization of the best, optimized product, process, and supply chain at launch and ensuring integrated launch process is implemented.Assessing and optimizing product performance metrics (e.g. COGS, Cycle Time, trade-offs).Leading Issue Management Teams as necessary.Building strong interdependent partnerships and run the communication effectively with key stakeholders in Discovery, Pharmaceutical Development and Supply (DPDS), and Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC), and our partners in the Commercial and Global Strategic Development Organizations, in strong alliance with the IMSC Planning and Customer Management organization.Representing IMSC in CMC teams as well as in Compound Development Teams, Global Commercial Teams, Integrated Brand Value Teams, and Disease Area Strongholds.Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline is required. An advanced technical degree (MSc, PhD) or an MBA degree in a scientific or engineering discipline is preferred.Experience Required:At least 10 years of broad Supply Chain Operations and/or R&D experience.Deep understanding of API/DP Operations and Manufacturing, Technical Transfers, New Product Development and introduction, Quality and Regulatory, in pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar industry.Understanding of the development and manufacturing process of complex biological products (i.e., monoclonal antibodies, bispecific and trispecific products).Experience leading a portfolio of complex products/projects with a proven track record of delivering results and leading multifunctional, ‘virtual’ and global teams to success.Understanding of business requirements and supply chain product metrics, proven ability to improve supply chain metrics.Ability to prepare cost benefit analyses and articulate business cases for stakeholders’ approvals, make sound business and customer centric decisions.Strong written and oral communication skills at all levels (English).Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries through influence, negotiation and partnering.Other:This position will require up to 20% international and domestic travel.Primary LocationEurope/Middle East/Africa-Ireland-Cork-CorkOther LocationsJohnson & Johnson is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
