As the Head of Sales for DHL Global Forwarding (Ireland) Limited, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and developing a clear Business Development Strategy for the organization. This senior management position requires a strong leader who can align with the CEO and Product Heads to achieve success.
The Business Development team consists of Operational & Key Account Owners, Product Subject Matter Experts, Product Route Development Managers, and Sales Support teams. As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for bringing these commercial functions together, ensuring a coordinated and cohesive approach to our Business Development Strategy.
You will have 4 direct reports and a team of dotted line reports to support you in this role. Your key accountabilities will include:
* Ability to network and build relationships at a strategic level both internally and externally, with the ability to penetrate large multinational organizations at board level.
* Promote DGF IE capabilities and develop meaningful relationships across the DGF global network, identifying opportunities for DGF IE growth.
* Identify a number of customers within our existing Tech & Pharma Verticals, developing Strategic Account Plans, along with reviewing other Vertical Sectors which to date, we have not penetrated i.e. Aerospace, Automotive, Consumer & Retail.
* Review and target specific trade lanes.
You will also be responsible for recognizing and leveraging the potential value of the RCC (Regional Customer Centre) to the DGF IE business growth strategy, developing a growth strategy leveraging from the skillsets in the wider organization, and ensuring a clear focus on communication, team building, employee engagement and development.

We are looking for a strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills, presentation skills, and networking and influencing skills. You will also need to have the ability to connect and engage with all stakeholders in a respectful manner, balance conflicting priorities, and possess IT skills including generalist knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and CRM.
