Optimize Recruitment are working with a well-established company with almost 30 years experience within the industry and are looking to recruit a HGV Driver on a full-time, permanent basis.
Job Purpose Delivering and collection of plant machinery, powered access hire equipment to customers using a Heavy Goods Vehicle in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
You will be working in a safety critical role and be responsible for delivering to a schedule and working to timescales.
You will be required to maintain good care of your vehicle, ensure all loads are secured, perform daily safety checks, and keep transport documents and paperwork updated.
Reporting to Depot Manager/ Transport Manager Key Skills & Duties Oversee the safe loading of the vehicle/trailer and ensure the load is distributed and secured correctly.
Ensure the loaded equipment is correct against the customers order and is loaded within the maximum weight allowances of the vehicle.
Follow collection/delivery instructions as per the information on the syrinx system.
Undertake product familiarization for customers Deliver the customers order in a timely and safe manner with respect for the customers property.
Handle any issues raised at the point of delivery calmly, effectively, and professionally.
Always conduct yourself in a professional manner.
Ensure the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy condition.
Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the Rules of the Road - highway code, tachograph legislation and driver hours limits.
Ensure the vehicle is not subject to unnecessary damage.
Report damage and losses of equipment Carry out daily checks and report any defects to the responsible person in the correct manner.
Continually monitor vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and complete defect reports where required.
Operate Hi-ab/ cranes (where applicable) safely and in accordance with the companys procedures, but only if trained and authorised to do so.
Ensure accidents and incidents are kept to a minimum and are reported in accordance with the companys procedures.
Report any changes to your driving license including endorsements or disqualifications.
To follow the company rules and directives as set out in the Employee handbooks Qualifications & Experience Hold a Full ROI Driving licence.
Hold the correct category entitlement (Category C/CE) Hold Current Valid Driver CPC Hold a current valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
