The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Leinster Rugby marketing plan for Domestic Rugby competitions and initiatives, as well as the administration, organisation and roll-out of Domestic Rugby events and competitions.
The Marketing and Communications Executive will work closely with all stakeholders and have a day to day working relationship with all Domestic Rugby Department staff, the Head of Communications and Media, committees, sponsors and the wider Commercial and Marketing team.
This position is being offered on a two year fixed term contract.

POSITION TITLE: Marketing and Communications Executive
ROLE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Leinster Rugby marketing plan for Domestic Rugby competitions and initiatives, as well as the administration, organisation and roll-out of Domestic Rugby events and competitions.
The Marketing and Communications Executive will work closely with all stakeholders and have a day to day working relationship with all Domestic Rugby Department staff, the Head of Communications and Media, committees, sponsors and the wider Commercial and Marketing team.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Functional: Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Rugby Development
KEY QUALITIES:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing/ sports management
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written with high standard of attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisational skills and experience managing events and launches
Mindset - big picture as well as detail orientation
Ability to multi-task and work on one's own initiative
Excellent time management skills
Flexible approach to working hours as dictated by the demands of the role

Must have access to a car and have a full driving license
Desirable:
Experience with web content management systems (CMS) and social media management systems
Strong interest in the game of rugby with a general understanding of the structures within the province
A broad interest and participation in sport, and passion for the rugby playing community of Leinster, would be a distinct advantage
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the Domestic Rugby team and the wider Commercial and Marketing team to help deliver the Leinster Rugby dual mandate and strategy
Creating, developing and implementing key domestic marketing campaigns and launches such as Leinster Rugby Summer Camps and School of Excellence Programmes
To lead the promotion of multiple domestic competitions per season, to include, the creation and management of domestic events/functions and competition launch events
To work closely with the Fixtures Administrator to identify key fixtures and dates in the domestic rugby calendar and ensuring proper promotion, together with the Communications Team and the PRO Committee
To lead match day management in conjunction with the Match Day Operations and Events Manager and the Facilities and Events Manager, for the following key domestic events:
Both the Bank of Ireland Junior and Senior Schools Cup Finals in Energia Park and RDS Arena
Women’s Senior games played in the Vodafone Interprovincial Championship
Towns Cup Semi-Finals Day and Final
BearingPoint Shane Horgan Cup and Sarah Robinson Cup Finals
Together with the Marketing and Brand Manager, you will support in the delivery of fully integrated domestic marketing campaigns for the season, such as Women's Interpros
To work closely with the Leinster Rugby Senior Women’s Team Manager as the liaison between the Senior team and the Commercial and Marketing Department
Assisting the Communications Team in planning a schedule of domestic events and coverage over the season by videography and photography and briefing same for domestic events
Together with the partnership team - providing real value to sponsors by coaching and guiding them through their activation plans
Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

WORKING PATTERN
The role will require the incumbent to discharge their duties under a 5/7 working arrangement including evenings and weekends. Core days will be determined by the Marketing and Brand Manager.
It should be noted that peak times for this role are in February, March and April for Provincial Towns Cup and schools’ events, then in July and August during the women's interprovincial competition and summer camps and in December and January for jersey presentations and laps of honour events.
From time to time, you may be required to support the wider Commercial and Marketing Team to achieve our overall marketing objectives set out for the season, such as sponsorship activations.
It is the responsibility of the incumbent to take days-in-lieu and to ensure that these days are logged via the HR system.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
Achievement of Summer Camp targets
Work with the wider Commercial and Marketing Department, especially Communications Team, to ensure consistent exposure for the domestic game, events and launches
Ensure a domestic presence exists at every match day
Successful promotion of multiple competitions and their key launch events, such as - Bank of Ireland Schools Cup and Provincial Towns Cup
Manage match day marketing activities for the Leinster Rugby Women’s and Age Grade programme to drive attendance at home games
Attention to detail and an ability to work to and meet deadlines
Ensure effective communication to the wider team
Maintaining effective relationships with various staff within Leinster and the IRFU
Carry out duties and responsibilities above to an effective and efficient standard
Acts as a role model in embodying core Leinster Rugby club values, behaviours and culture
Portray a professional image on behalf of Leinster Rugby
