Deputy Head of School, Health Sciences
The Deputy Head of School will play a key leadership role in shaping the strategic direction of the School within the context of Hibernia College's Group strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and direction to faculty, staff, and students.
* Support the Head of School in managing the School's activities and achieving its strategic direction.
* Contribute to strategic planning and participate in various committees, including the Academic Council and Academic Leadership Team.
* Guide and support Faculty in program development, delivery, management, and evaluation.
* Ensure a high-quality student experience and effective communication between students and the College.
Academic Leadership
* Serve as acting deputy registrar as needed for registration and awards.
* Conduct faculty inductions and promote excellence in teaching, learning, and research.
* Plan and evaluate School programs and activities.
* Conduct regular reviews of the School, including examination of integrating mechanisms with other programs.
External Relations
* Develop strong internal/external networks and strategic alliances.
* Promote the visibility and reputation of the School nationally and internationally.
* Engage with the wider HE sector, maintaining currency with prevailing higher education policy and its implications.
Personnel Management
* Maintain plans for staffing needs of the School.
* Ensure administrative efficiency and effectiveness, compliance with policies and procedures.
* Encourage maximum staff participation in the School's activities.
Requirements
* Qualified to level 10 on the QQI national framework of qualifications or close to completion.
* Excellent knowledge of policy, curriculum in the field of education.
* IACP accreditation for 5 years preferred.
* High level of competence in communication and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated leader with a proven record in effective team leadership and management.
