Our client is one of Ireland’s leading Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants design & build Contractors. This role is an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrical engineer with Water/WasteWater experience to join a highly established Electrical Design Engineering Team.
Responsibilities:
1. Produce detailed Electrical and Instrumentation designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants.
2. Ensure that all work is efficiently and effectively managed and executed within defined constraints, such as time and budget.
3. Communicate and interact with managers, engineers, internal and external team members, suppliers, and clients.
4. Experience liaising with Electrical Supply Board (ESB).
5. Design and selection of Instrumentation for Water and WasteWater processes.
6. Evaluate client specifications from Industrial and Municipal Clients.
7. Prepare Electrical Technical Designs & Submissions.
8. Design electrical distribution and general services (lighting, fire and intruder alarms, and containment systems).
9. Design and develop Electrical Panels including schematic review (MCC, LCP, MDB etc).
10. Develop automation hardware and system network architecture.
11. Evaluate and select sub-contractors and suppliers.
12. Prepare procurement specifications and quotation evaluations.
13. Liaise with other departments (design, contracts, control & automation etc).
14. Update single line diagrams, panel schematics, and wiring diagrams.
15. Prepare FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) documentation and attend FAT.
16. Prepare Control Philosophies.
17. Work to Irish Standards, European Norm, Water Industry Standards (WIMES) & IEC standards.
18. Travel to site occasionally as required to support design activities.
Requirements:
1. Level 7 or Higher in Electrical Engineering.
2. Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment industry preferable.
3. Highly organised and efficient.
4. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
5. Strong technical knowledge.
6. Team player and ability to work on own initiative.
