Our client, a leading organisation in the construction space based in South Dublin City, has an amazing opportunity for a Senior Financial Controller to join their team.
This role offers a superb platform for an accomplished finance person to step into a senior level position supporting the Managing Director on the continued growth trajectory of the company.
Your Role
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend strategic initiatives.
- Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to ensure financial health.
2. Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly and annual reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards.
- Manage the financial close process and ensure timely reporting.
3. Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Implement effective internal controls and risk management processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
4. Treasury Management:
- Manage cash flow and optimize working capital.
- Oversee treasury operations, including banking relationships, investments, and insurance.
- Manage debt and equity financing activities.
5. Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute long-term strategic plans.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for growth and cost reduction.
6. Team Leadership:
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Recruit, hire, and retain top talent.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
1. ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA designation required.
2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including a significant leadership role.
3. Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
4. Proven track record of success in a complex and dynamic business environment.
5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
6. Strong leadership and communication skills.
7. Advanced proficiency in financial software and systems.
8. Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment a plus.
9. Understanding of ESG reporting principles a plus.
10. Experience in dealing with European Projects and in a multi-currency environment is preferential.
