The Brothers of Charity Services in Ireland provide a variety of services and supports to over 6,500 people with an intellectual disability or autism, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford. The supports, which include residential, respite, day, host families, home based, and multidisciplinary, are provided by nearly 6,000 staff with a variety of professional backgrounds and experience.

Permanent Full-Time / Part-time evenings only (fixed term contract) and Relief posts.

The Role
Work as part of the team in Day Service to develop, support and implement person-centred programmes in line with HSE New Directions Framework. They will encourage and motivate the day attenders to develop and engage in programmes such as art, drama, sports, social skills, work placements, and joining community groups, with the goal of increasing independence and personal life skills. A competency in networking, creativity and developing strong links within the community is an integral part of this role.
The role also requires some rotational evening and weekend work.
The Candidates
* Must have a relevant Level 5 (Major) or higher qualification on the Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework in community development, health or education.
* 6 months experience of working with people with an intellectual disability, autism and challenging behaviour is desirable.
* Must have a full driving licence which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads.
* Must be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems.
* Skills or interest in Art/Crafts, Pottery, Horticulture, Gardening, Alternative therapies, Music, Sport would be a distinct advantage.
* Must be available to work afternoons/evenings and some weekends on a rotational basis as required.
Salary Scale: €34,081 - €49,864 per annum (HSE Consolidated Scales 1/10/24 Instructor Grade). Part-Time posts will be paid pro-rata to a full-time post.
