What you’ll do
An Experiential Fleet Operations Technician Tier 4 is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Google's experiential fleet. Key responsibilities include proactive maintenance, issue resolution, system administration, validation tasks, and deployments. This role requires a strong technical background, including proficiency in Linux systems, scripting, and network protocols. Additionally, the technician must be able to manage various fleet management tools, hardware, and software. They will also need to effectively coordinate with partner services and field teams to provide global support.
Beyond technical skills, the technician must be able to effectively work on project tasks, triage issues, and document processes. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a knowledge base to support fleet operations. The role requires flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed to address urgent issues and support special projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Proactively maintains the effectiveness and reliability of the fleet.
* Manage and execute proactive fleet-related projects.
* Specializations in:
o Google proprietary solutions and implementations.
o Google network infrastructure.
o General IT and high-performance media on networks.
o Management of Google Cloud platform services.
o Configuring fleet standards.
o Monitoring stability of deployment infrastructure.
o Platform and system administration.
o Validation testing for newer activation releases.
o Operating remotely and independently from the geographic locations of the fleet.
* Ensure the completion of planned work and escalated issues within the SLA, including:
o Proactive fleet maintenance projects, consulting or partnering with other Google teams or SMEs as required.
o Perform root cause analysis on any escalation support conducted.
o Document all issue management.
o Support experiential site operations as needed with projects and setup of various event or show elements as needed.
* Development and maintenance of a knowledge base for Experiential Fleet.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must Haves:
* High proficiency with Linux operating systems.
o Bash scripting experience.
o Python scripting experience.
* High proficiency with Windows operating systems.
o PowerShell scripting experience.
* High proficiency with Mac operating systems.
o AppleScript experience.
* Proficiency with online video production technologies.
o Cobalt encoders.
o Ross video switchers.
o Enterprise ethernet switches.
* Experience with web apps and web development.
o JavaScript experience.
* Experience with Gerrit, including reading, writing, reviewing, and submission of code.
* Ability to create detailed documentation.
* Flexibility to continuously teach and be taught new technologies and workflows.
Desired Experience
* Experience with IT network protocols.
* Experience with Google Cloud platform, VMs running web services.
* Experience with databases and familiarity with SQL.
* Experience with message brokers, federation, and configuration.
* Administration of desktop and server OS support (Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).
* Experience with fleet management software such as unified endpoint management (UEM).
* Familiarity with enterprise-level network switches & routers.
* Experience with complex network settings for audio/video such as VLAN, QoS, IGMP Snooping.
* Must be flexible to work after hours and weekends when required.
Nice To Haves:
* Undergraduate degree or 4 years related experience in networking or computer science.
* CTP (Certified Technical Professional).
* CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
* CNCT (Certified Network Computer Technician).
