Indirect Tax AnalystAbout the roleThis role is an VAT compliance and consulting role working as part of a large team of internal VAT colleagues within Pfizer Global Tax. The role has specific responsibility for managing all aspects of VAT Compliance obligations for countries managed by the VAT team in EMEA, APAC and LATAM.Our CompanyIn Pfizer our purpose is to bring breakthroughs that change patients’ lives. We work hard for our patients; however we fully respect that everyone has a personal life outside of Pfizer and we are committed to work-life integration, ensuring that colleagues are free to enjoy their own time with their friends and family.Key Areas of ResponsibilityEnsure accurate and timely preparation, completion and filing of VAT returns andcompliance work (VAT returns, ESL, Intrastat, annual returns, voluntary disclosures, where applicable, and any other ad hoc returns)Ensure all payments/refund requests are completed in a timely manner.Ensure the relevant VAT Team controls are completed each month.Identify and follow up on any errors or exceptions.Provide input/suggestions on process/system efficiencies that might be adopted to improve the processes in the Pfizer VAT team.Involvement and initiation of projects on process/system efficienciesManage the resolution of VAT account reconciling items or other issues as assigned.Manage errors and exceptions to minimize the impact on financial results and avoid non-compliance penalties with Tax Authorities.Assist the Indirect Tax Specialist in Tax Audits and QueriesSupport the VAT Specialist and VAT Management in providing VAT consultancy and advisory support to stakeholders.Develop Market relationships by assisting the Indirect Tax Specialist in providing accurate and relevant VAT advice.Support the Global Indirect Tax initiatives and requests.SystemsAssist the Indirect Tax Specialist in ensuring all relevant VAT changes affecting your territories are considered in terms of system impact (e.g. SAP, Global VAT Reporting Tool (GVRT)) and that the information is communicated and documented to the appropriate contact for updateEnsure all ad hoc reporting and information tools are available as required by Pfizer Indirect Tax or the markets (e.g. Tax audits).GeneralDemonstrate an adaptability and openness to change, whether it be in objectives, roles, procedures. Demonstrate flexibility in working roles, to allow assistance to other colleagues in busy periods, by proactively making themselves available to support othersQualificationsMinimum 1-2 years VAT experienceExperience in a Big 4 Indirect tax practice or a multinational commercial organisation and/or Specialist experience in Indirect Tax an advantageSAP experience an advantageA recognized professional tax qualification (e.g. AITI, AIIT) and/or significant post qualified experience an advantageEffective communicator with excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently, to work under pressure and to handle several projects at onceSAP experience desirableProficiency in PC skills (incl. Oracle, SAP, Word and Excel) Work Location Assignment: Dublin (Watermarque), Ireland with the possibility of hybrid working per the current company guidelines.Additional Information In order to be considered for this position in Ireland you need to be legally eligible to work in Ireland.
