Job Summary:
We are seeking a Contracted Maintenance Specialist to ensure the ongoing care and upkeep of our reforestation and green space restoration sites under the Ho'oulu Lāhui Project.
Detailed Responsibilities:
* Perform regular site visits to conduct landscape maintenance at multiple locations.
* Trim, mow, weed, and prune to maintain healthy plant growth and prevent overgrowth.
* Ensure irrigation and watering needs are met, adjusting based on seasonal conditions.
* Apply nutrients, soil amendments, and organic treatments as needed.
* Monitor plant health and report any pest, disease, or environmental concerns.
* Maintain pathways, signage, and overall site cleanliness for accessibility.
* Collaborate with project managers to ensure maintenance aligns with restoration goals.
Experience Required:
We are looking for a passionate, community-driven individual who believes in mālama ʻāina and empowering people through knowledge.
* Experience in landscaping, forestry maintenance, or native plant care.
* Knowledge of Hawaiian native plants, soil health, and sustainable land management is a plus.
* Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Reliable transportation to travel between multiple project sites.
* Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and problem-solving skills.
Schedule:
The Maintenance position will work a flexible schedule based on project needs.
Compensation is on a per-site basis, depending on experience and contract terms. Travel stipends may be available for site visits.
