RecruitNet International Ltd specializes in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care, and Community care. We are hiring a Basic Grade Medical Scientist-Multidisciplinary for our Hospital client in Cork, Ireland.
Responsibilities
1. Participate in the future development of a Laboratory Service that supports the needs of healthcare professionals and their patients and is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the Laboratory.
2. Take part in the clinical service, in collaboration with Consultant and Laboratory Management team, to ensure patient results are delivered to the highest standard in a timely manner.
3. Participate and discharge duties required to provide operational services within a multi-disciplinary laboratory/team.
4. Maintain professional competency to work in accordance with the laboratory management system and act impartially and ethically in the discharge of duties.
5. Observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient information.
6. Discharge duties in accordance with laboratory policies and be responsible for the quality of that work.
7. Actively participate in and promote continuing education and research activities within the organisation.
8. Encourage professional development of staff, through promoting self-learning, formal courses, or formal and/or informal on-the-job training.
9. Develop, update and review policies, procedures, and guidelines for the department.
10. Promote good communication within the team.
11. Participate in developing and leading the introduction of new ideas and methods aligned to strategic objectives of the organisation.
Requirements
1. CORU-registered Medical Scientist
2. Eligible for membership of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
3. Candidates must be Irish / UK and Portugal educated
4. Evidence of current technical competence and CPD in Blood Transfusion or Haematology or Biochemistry.
5. Experience of ISO15189 (essential) and JCI hospital accreditation (desirable)
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Patient-centered and can-do approach
8. Enthusiastic, flexible, and collaborative
9. Team player who is also able to work on their own initiative
