Responsibilities:
1. Process Introduction of New Tools; Tool trials at tool makers and in-house, tool set-up, qualification runs and handover to production.
2. Assist with the design and debugging of new systems, tooling and automation.
3. Completion of IQ, OQ, PQ validation reports. Complete product validations being capable of generating a process window IQ / OQ / PQ protocols and reports.
4. Perform designed experiments to enhance processes as well as improve yields and utilization through reduced cycle and efficient set-ups.
5. Front line liaison with customers, suppliers and toolmakers.
6. Responsible for the Moulding Process Systems including setting sheets, process control, deviation and control of setting sheets.
7. Troubleshooting, supporting Team Leaders as required.
8. Give technical assistance/direction to moulding technicians and operators
9. Liaising with tool room, maintenance, production and quality on a daily basis.
10. Develop/Implement maintenance programs for moulding and ancillary equipment.
11. Assist in maintaining clean, safe working environment.
12. Adhere to Plant Safety requirements and Health & Safety requirements relating to your work, assuming responsibility for those aspects of the OH&S System over which you have control to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
13. Be aware of the potential environmental impacts associated with your work and the implications of non-conformance.
14. Contribute to enhanced energy performance by conservation of energy where possible (Lighting, Equipment, Air Conditioning etc).
15. Contribute to the continual improvement activities of the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management systems through participation, providing feedback/ suggestions for improvement and by reporting accidents, dangerous occurrence, near miss/ illness, good catch and environmental incidents in a timely manner.
16. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
17. Degree in Polymer or Mechanical engineering or equivalent with 2-3 years hands on experience in a busy moulding manufacturing environment.
18. A knowledge of Engineering and Quality systems.
19. A demonstrated ability to solve problems with innovative and cost effective solutions.
20. A demonstrated ability to follow structured problem solving methodology.
21. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
22. Ability to lead and manage projects, project teams and multi-project portfolios.
23. Ability to make and implement decisions.
24. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a highly technical, challenging and changing environment.
25. Working knowledge of measurement systems.
26. Experience in cleanroom procedures and medical moulding would be an advantage, but not necessary.
27. Familiar with process set up and validation, including performing process window/repeatability studies, DOE’s, IQ,OQ,PQ etc.
