We have a new role available for a Senior Engineer to work with a Tier 1 building contractor on a €100 million Life Sciences project in Co. Galway.
You will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of construction operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, managing project schedules, and coordinating with the project team. This is a key leadership position that requires technical expertise, strong organisational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management: Lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
2. Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, including engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
3. Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that all construction activities meet the required standards and specifications.
4. Coordination: Collaborate with architects, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
5. Health and Safety: Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on construction sites, fostering a culture of safety among the project team.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, and as-built drawings.
7. Team Management: Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers and site staff, promoting a positive work environment and encouraging professional development.
8. Cost Control: Monitor project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement effective strategies to optimize project budgets.
Requirements:
9. 3rd Level Qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
10. Minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering role in the construction sector.
11. Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 building contractor is highly desirable.
12. Good IT skills.
13. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry best practices.
14. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a project team, manage subcontractors, and drive project success.
15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, architects, and subcontractors.
16. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve technical issues.
17. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry, with a commitment to promoting a safe work environment.
18. Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
19. Full Driver’s License.
