Job Title: HR Assistant

Contract Duration: 15 FTC (Maternity Cover)
This role is part of a dynamic and high performing HR Team which is responsible for delivering and managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle. The HR Assistant acts as a first point of contact for employees and is a key contributor to creating an engaging experience. This role will afford you the opportunity to develop by leading on case management and HR projects and has a clear career path to progress into business partnering.
The Role:
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Acting as the firm administrator for the Law Society, management of the annual Practising Certification renewal process, co-ordinating PPC application packs for new trainee solicitors and organising qualification documents for those completing their training.
* Co-ordinating all leave activity within the firm (e.g. annual leave, family leave and sickness-related absence).
* Updating and maintaining employee data on our HR system (PeopleXD, formerly CoreHR), for new and existing employees.
* Assisting with employee queries and troubleshooting system issues as they arise, finding solutions to enhance system accuracy and efficiency.
* Managing the firm's Travel Pass and Cycle to Work schemes, ensuring monthly/annual tickets are organised, system updates are made and applicable deductions communicated to payroll.
* Co-ordinating the leavers process, ensuring all documentation is collected, appropriate parties are informed of any upcoming departures and exit interviews are scheduled.
* Completing employment references as requested, always ensuring a high level of accuracy.
* Managing monthly payroll for starters, leavers, employee leaves and any applicable employee related benefits.
* Providing administrative support with the HR mailbox, assigning queries and responding to employees in a timely manner.
* Working with the HR team to operationalise new and improved processes and acting as a process owner for key projects and processes.
* Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual data reports (e.g. headcount, absence, leave) and other general HR reports, working with the team to develop a reporting dashboard for the business.
* Leading on and providing support for HR projects and new initiatives.
* Assisting with ad-hoc tasks within the HR Operations team, as and when requested.
The Person
* You have a 3rd level qualification, in Human Resources or a related discipline.
* You have 2 - 4 years' experience in a similar HR role with experience preferably having been gained in a business or professional services environment.
* You possess a s service mindset, have excellent verbal and communication skills
* You focus on accuracy and have an excellent eye for detail.
* High level of computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential (experience with Access XD (formally CoreHR) an advantage).
* You have strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* You are resilient, you want to make a difference, you can navigate change, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
